As far as his advice is concerned — I find that the people who think most on emotional, psychological, or spiritual subjects are often the people who grapple with them most frequently. The people I go to for advice are not usually the people who seem to have it "all figured out", but rather those I know who engage most forcefully with the subject that's troubling me. No one has the answers, but they're the ones who've figured out the more interesting questions.
